India Gave an Ultimatum to Blackberry Manufacturer

India insisted the Blackberry service will block next week if the Canadian company Research in Motion does not grant the demands of the Indian government about security for data access. The Indian government asked RIM to be able to access the data and track emails sent or received blackberry users in India. They worry that the service is misused by militants and creating political instability. Research in Motion executive will meet Indian government officials for the second time this Friday; the meeting is the last negotiations before the deadline given by the Government of India on 31 August.
“We only accept a solution that will enable us to receive lawful interception blackberry service in the interest of national security,” said the Indian government officials who took part in the talks told Reuters.
